About Zong Junn
I am a forward-thinking 3rd-year Aeronautical Engineering student with a passion for finance and investments. My transformative experience at Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund last summer has fuelled my ambition to transition into the dynamic world of Finance, specifically in Private Equity (PE) and Venture Capital (VC). During my internship, I honed my skills and gained valuable insights; fostering a deep-seated motivation to continually expand my financial acumen. In essence, I am passionately drawn to the realm of alternative lending and credit, with a broader exploration of fintech and the intricate workings of financial institutions. In particular, my focus lies in the evolving landscape of alternative data for consumer credit and loans - a fascinating trend shaping the financial industry. Coming all the way to Imperial College London to reach closer to this dream has not all been my own work. Nevertheless, it is the people who guided me throughout these years that deserve the recognition and achievements I garnered today. With that, I have always been passionate about sharing my knowledge with my fellow peers, teaching my juniors on subjects that they are lacking in, and even volunteering to help random strangers in their UCAS applications to top universities in the UK. All in all, I hope that my actions have brought positive impact to the lives of those that I helped, because it certainly did on mine. Beyond my career aspirations, my personal interests extend to current affairs and diplomacy, fuelled by a love for world maps and history. I find solace in the great outdoors, dedicating leisure time to activities like hiking and swimming, along with a keen interest in ball sports such as badminton, football, and golf.
