About Billy
I am 19 years old, originally from Liverpool and currently living in East London. I want to teach because I have a passion for history and politics and would like to encourage others to pursue these subjects. I think following your curiosity is important and I would love to encourage students to do this and see where it takes them. Given how turbulent contemporary politics is at the moment, I think it is important now more than ever to be skilled in these critical thinking subjects, and develop the ability to examine current events and accurately interpret them, forming judgments and opinions based on sound knowledge and evaluation.

Length of lessons is flexible to your timetable, preferably no less than 45 minutes in order to make sure the lessons can be productive. There will be a big focus in learning to write analytically and evaluatively, given these skills are the most important to achieve high grades. This will be done through planning practice essays under timed conditions, aiming to develop strong arguments in these plans. Especially in politics, I will make an effort to expand the student's general knowledge to allow them to interpret current and historical events in light of the context that surrounds them. I have tutored both my sisters for periods of time in psychology with them both working at an A* grade at the moment. I also tutored a 12 year old child from Jordan in English language skills for 6 months. I am happy to tutor for A-level and GCSE level. Of course this will be subject to the topics the student is taking.
