About Jake
I am a 2nd-year Medical Student at University of Edinburgh, offering tuition for A Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and Medical School Entrance Exams (BMAT and UKCAT). I achieved A*A*AA at A Level (Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics respectively) and 6.2 in BMAT, so I am highly confident in tutoring these subjects. I am also more than happy to give advice regarding application to Medical School, including personal statements and interviews.
I am also more than happy to teach GCSE Maths, Additional Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French and Spanish, having achieved 9A*2A at GCSE.

My philosophy is that once you understand something, you remember it. These subjects are inherently very memory-based, so I utilise memory techniques to ensure that you retain as much as possible.
In medical school, I see so many people lock themselves away during exam season, trying to study 24/7, because they think it is the only way to achieve good marks. Instead, I believe in maximising learning whilst minimising the time investment, so that revising doesn't consume all of one's time: the key is to 'study smart, not hard'.
