About Matthew
I am a recently matriculated student from 2025 who has a burning passion in mathematics that I can't but help feel the need to share it. I am a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University Of Pretoria. I was not always as good at math as I am now. At one point I thought I would never get distinctions for math, but that changed something for me. I started putting in the work and hours to better myself in math. Slowly but surely I started to get better and it just grew exponentially over time. I know math can be daunting but don't let it hinder your hunger to get better!

For a typical lesson I would first assess where the student is and identify their weak points and help them build a firm foundation of the subject as that will be very important for them to tackle questions on their own as I believe that math is not a learn and repeat subject but rather a subject where you need to identify and know how to go about different scenarios. After finding out where the student is, I then focus on those weak areas and make sure they understand and can do the content and then I set up questions that test if they know the work and help them with past examination questions.
