About Joseph
I’m a British English teacher from London, with a CELTA qualification and 14 years’ teaching experience. I specialise in pronunciation, clear and confident speaking, and preparation for IELTS and Cambridge English exams.
Having lived and taught in several countries and learnt languages myself, I understand the challenges of communicating in another language. I bring patience, curiosity and a sense of humour to my teaching.
I teach as I like helping people and enjoy the challenge!
I have lived in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Mexico, Portugal and Thailand. I study Spanish and Portuguese.
My lessons are in person in London and online over Zoom.

Your lessons will focus on what you need English for and the difficulties holding you back. We can work on pronunciation, everyday conversation, professional communication or exam preparation.
I use stories, discussions and practical speaking tasks to help you develop your English in context. You’ll have plenty of time to speak, with clear explanations and focused feedback on recurring mistakes.
For pronunciation, we work on both hearing and producing sounds, alongside stress, rhythm and connected speech. For exams, we combine language development with practice and feedback tailored to your target level.
Lessons take place online via Zoom or in person in London.

Perfect! Joseph is without any doubt the best English teacher I have ever had. He helped me succeed the TOFL examination and proofread several documents and texts that were essential to my academic and professional advancement. I will for sure continue having classes with him every now and then to keep my English skills sharp.

Joseph é um excelente professor. Sua metodologia foge do padrão usado para o ensino de língua estrangeira, ou seja, parte da compreensão da língua e não da memorização de palavras e frases.
