About Amelia
I hold a Master’s in Applied Mathematics and have been teaching for 10 years. My career began with tutoring secondary-level students, but now I also guide university learners in advanced mathematics. I have worked with students preparing for competitive exams as well as those needing consistent support in school courses. I take pride in seeing learners who once feared mathematics begin to enjoy it. I aim to make mathematics feel less like a barrier and more like a powerful tool. I encourage my students not just to solve problems but to think logically and creatively. My greatest satisfaction comes when a student realises they truly can master numbers.

My maths lessons are built on the idea that problem solving is a skill anyone can develop with practice. I start by explaining concepts in the simplest way possible and then gradually introduce more complex problem sets. Students first gain clarity, then confidence. I often use visual aids and real-world examples to break down abstract topics. For instance, probability is linked to genetics, and calculus is shown through physics examples like motion. This helps learners see mathematics as a useful language rather than a set of formulae. Regular practice tests and drills form part of my lessons. However, I ensure that every exercise is explained so students understand the “why” behind each solution. This way, exams become less about memorisation and more about application.
