About Daniella

My name is Daniella, and I am a dedicated and experienced tutor with over three years of hands-on experience supporting elementary and middle school students. I have worked with organizations such as FOG Readers and Volunteer Tutoring SF, where I focused on building strong literacy skills and academic confidence in students who need additional support. I also work in Extended Care at St. Stephen’s School, which has strengthened my ability to manage different learning styles and create a supportive learning environment. I am passionate about helping students who struggle academically or learn differently, and I bring patience, empathy, and structure to every lesson. My approach is professional, organized, and individualized, ensuring that each student feels supported and capable. I take pride in creating a positive and encouraging space where students can grow both academically and personally. I am committed to being reliable, prepared, and responsive to each student’s needs, and I believe that trust and consistency are essential to successful learning.

My approach to tutoring is centered on patience, personalization, and building confidence. I believe that every student learns differently and that success begins when students feel supported and understood. I use clear, step by step instruction, multisensory techniques, and positive reinforcement to help students grasp concepts at their own pace. My goal is not only to support academic growth, but also to help students develop confidence and a positive relationship with learning.

A typical lesson begins with a brief check in to understand how the student is feeling and to review previously covered material. I then introduce new concepts in an engaging and structured way, using visual aids, guided practice, and repetition when needed. Lessons often focus on reading support, literacy skills, and strategies for organization and focus. Each session ends with a short review to reinforce progress and celebrate achievements.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my personal experience with learning differences such as ADHD and dyslexia. This allows me to deeply understand the challenges many students face and to tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. I strive to create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.

My lessons are best suited for elementary and middle school students, particularly those who need extra support in reading, literacy, and learning skills. I work especially well with students who have learning differences or who benefit from individualized attention and structured guidance.
